Shepherd's Pie
Traditional English recipe for the Shepherd's pie. This salted meat pie is traditionally prepared from minced lamb. We used minced pork, more available version, but the taste did not decrease.

2. Preparation of the meat filling
Prepare the filling during cooking the potatoes. Coarsely grate a big onion and carrot.

Sear the minced meat in a little oil. Season the meat with salt.

Add grated onion to the braised meat, carrot and pressed garlic. Stir and continue cooking.

worcestershire sauce 1 tbsp • tomato paste 3.5 oz (100 g) • thyme 0.5 tsp • rosemary 0.5 tsp • dry red wine 6.75 tbsp (100 ml)
Then add Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, thyme, rosemary and pour in red wine.

vegetable stock ¾ cup (200 ml)
After that, pour in meat broth and allow the liquid to evaporate while stirring frequently.

Once the liquid evaporates, the meat mixture becomes dense and compact. Fill the small baking pot or pan with the mixture.
8. Preparation of potato mixture
salt • ground black pepper 0.25 tsp • egg yolk 2 pcs • parmesan 1.75 oz (50 g)
Mash boiled potatoes or blend them slightly, season with salt, ground black pepper, egg yolks, grated parmesan and stir.

11. Baking
Prick the cake with fork and bake in preheated oven for 15 - 20 minutes until the surface becomes brown.

Serve the finished cake warm with favourite seasonal vegetables.
